Some men see things as they are and say why... I dream of things that never were and say why not. :- George Bernard Shaw

HERO

//HBO

Bernie LaPlante (Hoffman, Sphere) is not the sort of man you would peg for a hero. A small-time crook by profession, he chances to be the first person on the scene of an airplane crash.

For reasons that are inexplicable, even to himself, he saves the lives of several people on board, one of whom happens to be TV reporter Gayle Gayley (Davis, Stuart Little 2). Unable to identify him at the scene of the accident, Gayley mounts a nationwide campaign to find the Angel of Flight 104.

But it isn't Bernie that shows up to claim the accolades, and the million dollar reward - it's garbage collector John Bubber (Garcia, Ocean's Eleven), who, after a chance encounter with Bernie, has enough details of the night to convince Gayley and the nation that he is the man they've been looking for.

Meanwhile, the only reward Bernie gets is a jail term for petty crime. Will truth prevail?

Dustin Hoffman, Andy Garcia, Geena Davis

Linkin Park - Meteora

Just listened to Linkin Park's Somwhere I belong & Nerd .. from their second album Meteora ...
don't have any opinion about Nerd .. but Somewhere is terrific track ..

"Somewhere I Belong"

(When this began)
I had nothing to say
And I get lost in the nothingness inside of me
(I was confused)
And I let it all out to find/
That I’m not the only person with these things in mind
(Inside of me)
But all the vacancy the words revealed
Is the only real thing that I’ve got left to feel
(Nothing to lose)
Just stuck/ hollow and alone
And the fault is my own, and the fault is my own

[Chorus]
I wanna heal, I wanna feel what I thought was never real
I wanna let go of the pain I’ve felt so long
(Erase all the pain till it’s gone)
I wanna heal, I wanna feel like I’m close to something real
I wanna find something I’ve wanted all along
Somewhere I belong

And I’ve got nothing to say
I can’t believe I didn’t fall right down on my face
(I was confused)
Looking everywhere only to find
That it’s not the way I had imagined it all in my mind
(So what am I)
What do I have but negativity
’Cause I can’t justify the way, everyone is looking at me
(Nothing to lose)
Nothing to gain/ hollow and alone
And the fault is my own, and the fault is my own

[Repeat Chorus]

I will never know myself until I do this on my own
And I will never feel anything else, until my wounds are healed
I will never be anything till I break away from me
I will break away, I'll find myself today

[Repeat Chorus]

I wanna heal, I wanna feel like I’m somewhere I belong
I wanna heal, I wanna feel like I’m somewhere I belong
Somewhere I belong

//HBO

The director of high-wire blockbuster Con Air, Simon West brings shoot-em-up, bring-em-down video game queen Lara Croft to the big screen.

Oscar winner Angelina Jolie (Girl, Interrupted, Gia) plays the agile British archeologist. Just what does she do for kicks? Skilled in hand-to-hand combat, weapons, foreign languages and a body-hugging wardrobe, she packs light and whisks herself off to exotic locations in search of lost crypts and forgotten civilizations. Definitely the queen of the lonely planet, she also kicks bad-ass butt!

Her next tour-of-duty takes her to the Ancient Tomb of the Dancing Light in Cambodia, and Siberia's Temple of Ten Thousand Shadows. She's got to find two halves of an ancient artifact, before they fall into the wrong hands, which would be catastrophic since he who possesses them controls time. Forget virtual reality. This is femme fatale in the flesh. Big bikes. Big guns. Big hooters.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider was made for big things.

Angelina Jolie, Jon Voight

Forrest Gump

Watched forrest gump just last week .. thought i better chalk it down now before it gets buried in my memory ..
well .. it was a nice movie .. was quite relaxing to find that things can be simple if you want them to be .. and they are better left simple ..
dunno what the director/wtiter wants to say thru the story ..
but i learned one thing from the movie..
"to be successful" and "to be smart" are two different things .. and not necessarily related to each other ..

Dialogues
Forrest: Stupid is as Stupid does, Sir
Forrest: There is an awful lot you can tell about a person by their shoes .. Where they're going, where they've been.
Forrest: We've been through every kind of rain there is.
Robin Wright as Jenny: Run, Forrest, Run!
Forrest: I'm not a smart man, but I know what love is.
Forrest: I gotta pee.
Forrest: My name is Forrest, Forrest Gump.
Forrest: My mama always said, Life was like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get.

You can read the screenplay here

City of Angels

Watched cityofangels y'day on starmovies .. saw its poster way back in the college .. but go the oppurtunity to watvh it today only ..
another nice performance by Meg Ryan (after you have got mail and french kiss .. not necessarily in that order .. )
guess she didn't left any space for appraisal of Nicolas Cage .. she looked .. ummmm .. beautiful through out whole movie .. but there were a few scene where she was mind blowing ..

haan .. i had a lill difficulty in understanding the ending .. in fact, even now the ending is not clear to me ..

Dialogues
"I would rather have had one breath of her hair, one kiss of her mouth, one touch of her hand, than an eternity without it. One."

About Me

Who am I?

Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honour to meet you and you may call me V.

You may call me V!!! That was the way the protagonist from the movie "V from Vendetta" told the world that he wants to be anonymous.

And that is exactly what I wanted to tell you here - you may call me V.

But just in case you wanted to know more about the real me - I am a Delhite, I am an Indian, I am a RECDian, I am an HCLite. I am 26 years old. I am married. I am an Indian IT professional.

More?? Likes / dislikes maybe ?? Well, I like lots of things!!! And I dislike whatever i dont like :-).

Hmm, Lets see ...

I like to read. I like to write (hence this blog).

I like to Sing. I like to play instruments (very amatuer stuff).

I like to travel to new places. I like to travel to places I have been before.

I like to make new friends. I like to keep in touch with all my old friends.

I like people who praise me. I like people who criticize me.

I like people who think positive. I like people who have a cool mind.

I like people who are always smiling. I like people who make other people smile.

I like people who care about other people.

I think that is enough about me for now. Isnt it?

Let's hear from you now .... who are you? how did you come here? did you like this blog? do you have anything in particular to comment, suggest, criticise etc about this blog? Please put all you have to say about me or about my blog as comments to this post.

I appreciate your time. Gracias. Adios.
